Market Review

The HSI ended flat yesterday rising a mere 0.74 points to finish at 21,208.29 points.  Turnover for the bourse fell to HK$55.6bn from HK$58.5bn the day before.  Likewise, the HSCEI rose 0.06% to finish at 12,217.33 points.  Investors took a breather yesterday after a 3 day gain, and also on worries of possible monetary tightening on the mainland.  Cathay Pacific Airways (293 HK) and CITIC Pacific (267 HK) rose 4.7% and 7.5% respectively on good earnings results.  PCCW (8 HK) also posted good results with its stocks rising 4.5% for the day.
